ALEX CAMINITI (Messina – Sicily, 1977)

A young talented artist, full of ideas and determination, well appreciated all over the world.

His art, full of objects, phrases, materials, letters and metaphors, is a cry of protest and represents a challenge, based on his personal and artistic touch, towards a word where a certain respectability joins an immoderate and rampant narcissism, mixed with dictatorial nuances.

As Caminiti used to say: “In art we cannot follow a style or interpret a technique. My art is an art for people, for this who want to know it and own it. Art is the expression of many things, as many as the eyes of the beholder. The world itself is made up of many elements, bus just as for the artist there are no real breaking points”.

Alex Caminiti was born in Messina (Sicily) on June 4 th 1977. A the age of 6, in the Saint Anthony orphanage where he grew up, he began his first steps in the world of the art. His fertile career will lead him to exhibit in Italy and abroad, always receiving positive critics. Zichichi, Mattarella, Sgarbi, Biasi, Scaringella are some of the curators who have written about him. Through Europe, Asia, North and South America, his works have been seen by thousands of people. His was selected by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to attend events in many cities like Paris, Lima, Bogota, Beijing, Tokyo, Copenhagen, Budapest, Lausanne, Estoril, Toronto.

Alex Caminiti expresses in his works the sense of a visual essentiality, only apparently chaotic, but structurally linked to the ironic and colorful vision of life. Expressing with his irrepressible sign a misleading gesture line, guided by a manual impetuousness, an identity full of an emotional and cultural expressionism inserted in a solid reality. This also coincides when he passes from painting to sculpture always using essential elements.

In this phase of his work, the artist wants to make people believe the stimulating and at the same time provocative idea that making art is entering the anarchy of the absence of structure. His works, full of light and color, refer to a concrete vision of the world of today, in which the artist is well aware of the assimilations that derive from the different cultural intersections encountered during his educational and creative path. Art always remains the only existential segment between humans, hope and poetry.
